Jay Britton graduated in 2007 from the Royal Academy of Music in
With Royal Academy Opera, Jay performed in the 2006 production of Rameau’s Dardanus, as well as performing in scenes as the Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozzi de Figaro, Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Mrs. Grose in Britten’s The turn of the screw and Elisetta in Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto.
Jay’s oratorio engagements include the role of Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Little Organ Mass and St. Nicholas Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Mass in C Minor, Solemn Vespers and Coronation Mass, Faure’s Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, and Bach’s cantata for soprano soloist Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen with the orchestra of St John’s Smith Square.
Aside from opera and oratorio, Jay is in great demand as a soloist for recitals and private functions including a solo performance at the House of Commons. She has performed recitals at the Royal Academy of Music, the
Recent engagements have included Bach’s Magnificat and Charpentier’s Te Deum with the Eye Bach Choir, Brahms’ Requiem with the English Arts Chorale, and J. S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor with the Royal Academy of Music and Trevor Pinnock at the Spitalfields Festival 2007.
Future plans include performances of Mozart’s C Minor Mass and Solemn Vespers, Haydn’s Nelson Mass with the English Arts Chorale and Dvorak’s Stabat Mater with the Eye Bach Choir.
